Abstract

The alloys CeAg0.75Ga3.25, CePd0.3Ga3.7, and CeAg0.6Al3.4 reported to crystallize in the BaAl4-type tetragonal structure, are investigated by magnetization M, electrical resistivity, and magnetoresistance measurements. All of these alloys appear to order ferromagnetically below about Tc=4 K. M tends to saturate at low fields (< 10 kOe). The paramagnetic Curie temperature θp is positive and the magnitude is comparable to Tc. This observation indicates a negligible influence of the Kondo effect in these alloys.
