Abstract

The lepton-nonconserving rare process pp→(jet)1(jet)2e+e+, without missing pτ, is the high-energy analog of neutrinoless nuclear double-β decay. It is shown to be a possible signal to search for a heavy Majorana electronlike neutrino Ne in the mass intervals 150-1400 GeV and 450-1700 GeV at the CERN Large Hadron Collider (LHC) and the Superconducting Super Collider, respectively, with event rates of a few per year. However, standard-model backgrounds probably preclude seeing this process at the LHC.
