Abstract

This paper presents criteria for supersaturation for several practically important cases of gas—liquid reactions involving a volatile product. It is shown that the supersaturation conditions predicted from film theory equations differ considerably from the ones predicted from the penetration theory equations. For one type of gas—liquid reaction theoretical predictions are verified by preliminary tests on two experimental systems.
