Abstract

Some aspects of simultaneous absorption and reaction of two gases in an inert medium, and a medium containing species which react with one of the dissolved gases have been considered. Experiments were made on simultaneous absorption of carbon dioxide and ammonia in water and aqueous solutions of mono- and di-ethanolamine in a 5 cm i.d. continuous glass bubble column. A good agreement between the experimental and predicted values was observed.
