Abstract

We suggest a new mechanism for the slow decay of remanent magnetization observed in spin glasses within the frame work of time-dependent Ginzburg-Landau theories. We propose that the magnetization decays to equilibrium slowly due to its coupling with the order parameter. We use a generalization of the Thouless-Anderson-Palmer free energy for a spin glass to construct a simple model exhibiting non-exponential decays to equilibrium for T < Tc.
