Abstract

The results of heat-capacity C, magnetic susceptibility χ and resistivity ρ measurements above 2 K on the non-stoichiometric alloys, CeFe0.28Sn2, CeCo0.45Sn2, CeNi0.74Sn2 and CeCu0.5Sn2, are reported. While the Fe alloy appears to be essentially nonmagnetic down to 2 K, with enhanced low temperature C/T behaviour, the Co, Ni and Cu alloys show the signatures of magnetic ordering (presumably with dominating ferromagnetic interaction) below about 5.2, 4.2 and 8.2 K, respectively.
