Abstract

Using Bethe ansatz we study N-body bound states of a generalized nonlinear Schrödinger model with two coupling constants c and η. We find that bound states exist for all values of c but only within certain ranges (called bands) of η. These ranges are governed by Farey sequences in number theory.
