Abstract

Uncoupled Hartree-Fock perturbation theory calculations of the Sternheimer antishielding factor gammavaries as are reported for the experimentally important ions of N3−, Cl and Cd2+ imbedded in ionic solids. Whereas the gammavaries as value for Cd2+ is found to be similar to that for Cl, the corresponding antishielding function gamma (r) shows significant differences. The core-only estimates of the antishielding factors for the ions considered are given.
