Abstract

The uncoupled Hartree-Fock estimates of quadrupole polarizability, ionic antishielding factor, and valence shielding factor for Ce3+ (4f1) in ionic solids are calculated to be 3.523 Å5.−107. and +0.20, as compared with the free ionic values of 1.26 Å5, −65, and 0.11, respectively.
