Abstract

Phonon frequency shift and attenuation due to spin-phonon interaction in a compressible Ising magnet is investigated. Whereas the attenuation is zero in this model, the relative frequency shift is found to be frequency independent and shows a weak temperature dependence determined by the spin-spin correlation.
