Abstract

It is shown that, if [σπ-ptot(s)-σπ-ptot(s)]=δσ, lim [σπ-ptot(s) + σπ-ptot(s)]/lns, and lim Inf [2/π3)m2π(δσ)2π-p→π0non-flip(s)]≅R, and if isospin invariance holds, then the helicity non-flip differential cross-section ratios [(dσ/dt)/(dσ/dt)t=0] π±p→π±p must have: i) zeros at momentum transfers t∼s→∞-const. (lns)−2 if R≥0.865, ii) forward peaks with widhts proportional to (lns)−2 if R>¼.
