Abstract
A microscopic theory of the dynamic spin susceptibility Χ(q, ω) of an itinerant electron system above Tc is presented. The theory includes in a spin-conserving manner the effect on Χ(q, ω) of slow, long-wavelength spin fluctuations, representing these as appropriate random magnetic fields. A resonance in Im {Χ(q, ω+)} is found for frequencies ω ≤kBT.
