Abstract

Effect of titanium concentration in the D9 composition on the defect recovery has been investigated using positron lifetime measurements. As-received and creep-tested samples of 20% cold-worked D9 having different weight percent of titanium namely, 0.18, 0.23, 0.25 and 0.36 have been investigated. As-received Ti variants of D9 have also been isothermally annealed at 973 K and positron lifetime studies have been carried out to confirm the evolution of TiC precipitates during the initial annealing stages. These results are discussed in the light of TiC precipitation with our earlier work on isochronal annealing of cold-worked D9.
