Abstract

The application of ultrasound in the enhancement of rate/yield has been investigated for hydrolysis and isomerisation reactions. A lower rate is observed by ultrasound compared to the phase transfer catalyst for the hydrolysis reaction, whereas there is substantial increase in the yield for the isomerisation reaction.
