Abstract

The polarography of zinc in glycine medium is reported. Two waves occur below pH 7. The first wave is diffusion-controlled and the second is kinetic in nature, arising due to the depletion of hydrogen ions at the electrode surface. Only one wave was obtained above pH 8. The electrode reaction is irreversible: the transfer coefficient and the standard rate constant are calculated.
