Abstract

Heat capacities and densities of liquid o-xylene, m-xylene, p -xylene, and ethylbenzene have been measured at temperatures from 318.15 K to 373.15 K and at pressures up to 10 MPa using a d.s.c. and a vibrating-tube densimeter, respectively. Molar heat capacities Cp, m and molar volumes Vm (derived from densities) have been fitted simultaneously as double power series satisfying the relation: (∂Cp, m/∂p)T = -T(∂Vm/∂ T2)p. The results have been compared with literature values.
