Abstract
The interaction of Sb(III) and Bi(III) ions with N-hydroxyethyl ethylene diamine triacetic acid (H3ZOH) was investigated by pH metric and spectrophotometric methods. Evidence is presented for the formation of the species SbZOH, SbZO-, SbZO(OH)2-, BiZOH and BiZO- and their stability constants determined. The compounds SbZOH · H2O, BiZOH · H2O and BiZONa · 4 H2O were isolated and their X-ray powder data are given.
