Abstract

The development of microsporangium in Nicotiana glutinosa is described. Fusion of the tapetal nuclei has been recorded. A comparative study of the embryo-sac and embryo formation in N. glutinosa and N. tabacum, the two parents of the present hybrid, has been made. The development and behaviour of the megaspore in the hybrid is described and compared with that of the parents.
