Abstract
Let EG be an algebraic principal G-bundle over CPn, n ≥ 2, where G is a reductive linear algebraic group defined over C. We prove that EG admits a reduction of structure group to a one-parameter subgroup of G if and only if H1 (CPn , ad(EG)(-k)) = 0 for all k ≥ 1, where ad(EG) is the adjoint vector bundle.
