Abstract

The enthalpies (at 298.15 and 308.15 K) and partial molar heat capacities (at 303.15 K) of transfer of NaBPh4 from water to solutions containing 2, 4, and 7 M of urea have been determined calorimetrically. The results are discussed in terms of the effect of urea on the structure of aqueous solutions of solutes containing hydrophobic groups.
