Abstract

The larval parasite, E. trochanieratus, oviposits in the body cavity of the, host larvae where the parasite larva develops. The mature larva emerges from the host killing it in the process and spins a cocoon. Ten mated females of the parasite had an average ovipositional period of 7.8 days (maximum 14) and produced an average of 95.8 adult progeny of the both sexes. The longevity of the ovipositing females averaged 9.1 days (maximum 15) and the sex ratio (m: f) of their progeny averaged 2.1:1. The rm value was 0.160 per female per day. The Re and T values were 30.56 and 19.10, respectively. In other, words the population would multiply 30.56 times in generation time of 19.10.
