Abstract

A non-local separable potential derived earlier by one of us (A. N. M.) has been used to calculate the T = 0 energy levels of the shell model configuration (d3/2)2. The results are satisfactory, and the advantages of such a realistic and well-behaved potential over the other potentials, local but invoking singularities, hard cores etc., for calculating nuclear energy levels are pointed out.
