Abstract

The rheological behaviour of alkali catalysed cashew nut shell liquid-formaldehyde resins as studied in a Coutte viscometer is described. The system was found to be non-Newtonian showing a yield value even at the beginning. Rate of change of viscosity with time was autocatylic. Solution of the resin in trichlorethylene was found to exhibit dilatancy.
