Abstract
Isobisabolene, a new sesquiterpene hydrocarbon isolated from vetiver oil (Vetiveria zizanioides, Linn.) is shown to have the structure I on the basis of dehydrogenation, ozonolysis and the formation of bisabolane (III) on hydrogenation.
