Abstract
Novel pyrroloisoquinolines 4̲ are obtained from 1-methyl-3,4-dihydroisoquinolines 1̲ by the action of POCl3 and DMF, along with the expected mono- and dialdehydes 2̲ and 3̲ respectively and also directly from N-acetyl-2-phenethylamines.
