Abstract

This paper describes the cuticle, epidermis, and the different kinds of stomata met with in three species of Anemia. Observations made on the ontogeny of the Anemia type or 'floating' stomata in A. rotundifolia show that their meristemoids give rise to a guard cell mother cell by the formation of a periclinal wall as suggested earlier by other workers.
