Abstract

At many places in the present view the author has used, rather loosely, the convenient word "spore" to denote any one of the three categories of grain, viz., spore, prepollen and pollen, merely because of the lack of any suitable word which could be used instead. The special types of spores met with in the algae and the fungi have not been considered.
