Abstract

The effect of estradiol and/or clomiphene on uterine sialic acid was studied in the rat during delayed implantation. Estrogen or clomiphene induced within 6 hours a sharp increase in uterine sialic acid; the level of sialic acid 6 hours after clomiphene treatment was significantly less than that caused by estrogen at the same time period. Pretreatment with clomiphene or simultaneous administration with estrogen inhibited estrogen induced increase in uterine sialic acid. These results are discussed in the light of estrogenclomiphene Interaction.
