Abstract

Thionyl chloride reacts with 6-methyl- and 7-methoxyflavones to yield the 3-chloro derivatives in both cases. Reaction of the above flavones with sulphuryl chloride gives two compounds with the former flavone and 4 compounds with the latter. All the structures have been established on the basis of spectral data and the hydrolysis products.
