Abstract

The angular and momentum distributions of γ-rays, produced in ρρ collisions at the CERN ISR at a centre of mass energy of 44.4 GeV, have been measured using nuclear emulsions. This experiment covers an angular region 27° < θcm < 88° which had not been covered in an earlier ISR experiment. Using the entire available γ-ray data, the πo angular distribution has been deduced. The average πo multiplicity is found to be <Nπo> = 4.0 ± 0.6. Using this value, we deduce the average charged particle multiplicity to be <Nch> = 10.6 ± 1.4.
