Abstract
A number of alkoxy β-diketonate derivatives of chromium(III) of the type Cr(OR)2 (βdk), Cr (OR) (βdk)2 and Cr(βdk)3 have been synthesised in quantitative yields from the reaction of chromium(III) alkoxides with different β-diketones (acetylacetone, benzoylacetone and 2-thenoyl trifluoroacetone). These derivatives have been characterised by the metal and alkoxy group analyses, infrared spectra, electronic visible spectra and magnetic susceptibility in addition to molecular weight measurements.
