Abstract

Double isopropoxides of chromium(III), manganese(II), iron(III), cobalt(II), nickel(II) and copper(II) with aluminium(III) having the general formula, M[Al(OPri)4]n (when M = Cr and Fe, n = 3; when M = Mn, Co, Ni and Cu, n = 2), have been synthesised. These are coloured liquids, soluble in organic solvents and can be distilled under vacuum. Molecular weight determinations show that these are monomeric. IR spectra of these compounds have also been recorded.
