Abstract

The unsaturated esters of As(III) and Sb(III) of general formula M [OC(RR')CH=CH-R"]3 have been synthesized by the interaction of arsenic and antimony isopropoxide with various unsaturated alcohols in 1:3 molar ratio, respectively. All the compounds synthesized are colourless liquids which can be distilled under reduced pressure. The synthesized compounds were characterised by their elemental analysis, and i.r. and p.m.r. spectral studies. The molecular weights of these compounds in boiling benzene have been determined.
