Abstract

Reactions of tributyltin isopropoxide and ethoxide with amides (RCONH2) in different molar ratios yield products of the type RCONH2-x(SnBu3)x (R = CH3; CH2; CH; C6H5 and x = 1, 2). These derivatives are volatile with the exception of the benzamide derivatives, which decompose on being heated to ~ 210°C under vacuum. The structures of the compounds are discussed in the light of their physical and chemical properties.
