Reactions of [(COD)RhCl]2 with MS2P(OR)2 and H4NS2POGO yield neutral four-coordinate complexes with the general formulae (COD)Rh[S2P(OR)2] and (COD)Rh [S2POGO ], respectively [where COD = η-cycloocta-1,5-diene; M = Na or NH4; R = C2H5, iC3H7 or n-C3H7; G = (CH3)2C-C(CH3)2, CH2C(CH32CH2 or (CH3)CHCH2 C(CH3)2]. These complexes are monomeric in nature and have been characterized by IR, 1H and 31P NMR spectroscopy, the last technique being specially useful in revealing the bidentate nature of the ligand.
