Abstract

Dibutyltin diethoxide, Bu2Sn(OEt)2, reacts with various alkanolamines, HOXNH2, (X=CH2CH2CH2, CH(Me)CH2), HOXNR2 (X=CH(Me)CH2 and R=Me; X=CH2CH2CH2 and R=Et) in 1/1 and 1/2 molar ratios to yield distillable dibutyl(ethoxy)tin aminoalkoxides, Bu2Sn(OEt)(OXNR2) and dibutyltin bis(aminoalkoxides) Bu2Sn(OXNR2)2, respectively. For reactions of R2Sn(OR')2 (R=Et, n-Pr and R'=Et; R=Et and R'=t-Bu) with HOXNH2 (X=CH2CH2, CH2CH2CH2 and CH(Me)CH2), cyclic compounds of the type R2Sn(OXNH) are obtained. Molecular weights and IR spectra of the new products are reported and discussed.
