Abstract

A first-order approximate theory of a delay line oscillator has been developed and used to study the characteristics of the free and forced oscillations. The hysteresis in the forced oscillation characteristics has also been studied with reference to the multi-mode property of the oscillator. Experimental results obtained from a model oscillator are found to be in agreement with theory.
