Abstract

The surface conductance of 5 Ω cm n-type germanium has been experimentally studied up to fields of about 2 kv cm-1. It has been observed that the excess surface conductance is negative and its magnitude increases with the field in the high-field region. The experimental results also indicate that the ratio of the actual surface conductance and the bulk conductivity decreases with the field.
