Abstract

The pattern of distribution of minor elements in manganese ores associated with Precambrian gondites (metamorphosed manganiferous sediments) in the Nagpur and other districts of India is reported. The data lead to the conclusion that the Mn and Fe of solutions responsible for the alteration of the gondites were converted into colloids prior to precipitation as the oxide ores.
