Abstract

It is shown that for rotating binary liquids in the extreme Soret regime there is a critical Taylor number below which convection sets in as zero-wave-number rolls. Above the critical Taylor number a finite wave number is selected and the critical wave number depends on the rotation speed. Experimental possibilities are discussed.
