Abstract

The Cottingham formula is used to calculate the D+-D0 mass difference assuming that isospin-symmetry breaking arises entirely from electromagnetic interactions. Using the vector-meson-dominance model for electric and magnetic form factors and SU(4) coupling relations, we obtain a value of 12 MeV for this mass difference.
