Abstract

Assuming that physical quarks belonging to various generations are radial excitations of the bound states of a pair of massive constituent fermions and a scalar governed by the scalar-spinor Bethe-Salpeter equation with a harmonic kernel, we employ the instantaneous approximation to calculate relativistic corrections to the Kobayashi-Maskawa quark mixing matrix. We find that the corrections are not large if the quark mass differences are small compared to the constituent masses.
