Abstract

Water soluble complexes of C60 have been prepared on solid-state mechano-chemical reaction between C60 and tertiary amines (hexamine, DABCO) at room temperature (25 ° C). The product is characterized by x-ray diffraction and FTIR methods. It is presumably due to the charge transfer interactions between electron affinic C60 and electron rich tertiary amines.
