Abstract

In this paper, the authors have derived explicit expressions for the combination frequency components of the current density in a homogeneous magnetoplasma due to two alternating electric fields. While deriving these expressions, all the important contributions arising from the various isotropic and anisotropic parts of the distribution function have been taken into account. An interesting result is that, in the general case, when the applied electric fields are in the form of pure modes of two fundamental waves, only the opposite modes of the combination frequency components are generated in the current density. Some numerical results depicting the phenomenon of resonances for some simple interesting situations have also been presented at the end.
