Abstract

Eigenvalue reanalysis and response reanalysis based on modal perturbation are applied to free viscoelastic damping layer treated plates. Plates with all edges simply supported and all edges clamped boundary conditions are considered and eigenvalue reanalysis and response reanalysis are applied to these for the modifications with free damping layer for varying thickness ratios, full coverage treatments and for varying coverage ratios for partial coverage treatments. Accuracy, computational effort and convergence of the reanalysis are studied. It is observed that reanalysis is reasonably accurate, fast convergent and computationally efficient.
