Abstract
ESR spectra of 4,4'-dimethoxyazobenzene radical anion, obtained using sodium or lithium metal reduction in tetrahydrofuran, are presented. The spectra reveal 'contact' ion-pairs in the sodium case and 'free' anions in the lithium case.
