Abstract

Experimental studies on 8 compositions inthe Phlogopite (Ph) Mn-Phlogopite (MnPh) system at 800 (1 kb) and 750°C (10 kb) under NNO bufferconditions show that phlogopite can incorporate up to about 50 wt% MnPh in solid solution. PureMn-phlogopite is not stable at 1 kb, but could be synthesized at 10 kb. Mn-phlogopite can incorporate upto 30 wt% Ph in solid solution.
