Abstract

The non-simple liquid metals Zn, Cd, and Hg show an asymmetric peak in their structure factors at or near their melting point. The structure factors are computed using the Lebowitz solution of binary mixtures by assuming the liquids as a mixture of two groups of atoms with different atomic separations. The agreement between the theoretical and experimental structure factors throughout the whole momentum space is excellent.
