Abstract

2,5-Diketogluconic acid decarboxylase has been purified from extracts of Acetobacter melanogenum. This paper reports the method of purification, the properties of the purified enzyme, and some properties of the reaction product. A crystalline o-nitrophenylhydrazone derivative of the decarboxylation product has been obtained.
