Abstract

The infrared spectra of solution-grown thin films of polyvinyl chloride doped with copper, iron and cobalt were studied as functions of the metal concentration. Metal doping produces intensity changes in the absorption bands which are correlated with a decrease in the degree of crystallinity and a new metal-polymer interaction. A model is presented to account for this metal-polymer interaction.
